About Us

McCallister Fitness & Functional Movement — elevating the standard of personal training since 2017.

Our Story · Since 2017

We saw the gap…got frustrated…built the solution.

McCallister Fitness & Functional Movement was founded in 2017 out of frustration. Real frustration.

Physical therapy patients getting cleared and sent home with no bridge to actual training. Well-intentioned trainers injuring clients because they didn't understand how a body must function before it can be safely pushed. People falling through the cracks between medical recovery and lasting fitness — stuck in no man's land with nobody willing to meet them there.

So we built a place that doesn't let any of that happen.

McCallister Fitness exists in that gap. Where clinical knowledge meets real-world training. Not trends. Not ego. Not just what worked for someone else.

We work with people who've been injured and need more than clearance from a doctor. People who are aging and refuse to accept that declining fitness is inevitable. People who move improperly and have never been told why or how to change it. People who are done being overlooked and ready for someone who will actually figure out what's going on.

Our Mission

To restore a body to the way it was designed to move.

Not managed. Not maintained.
Restored.

Our Core Values

Evidence Over Ego

We leave fitness fads at the door. Everything we program is backed by current scientific literature in exercise physiology.

Clinical Collaboration

With your consent, we coordinate with your doctors, physical therapists, and chiropractors to ensure a safe continuum of care.

Measurable Progress

If you aren't assessing, you're guessing. We track objective data to prove our methods are working.

Meet the Team

Bill and Kerin are not interchangeable. They are two halves of how this works.

Bill brings the movement side — assessment, corrective exercise, functional movement expertise. Kerin brings something most fitness facilities can't offer at all: a personal trainer who is also board-certified in nutrition with a Master's in Clinical Nutrition. Your training and the nutrition behind it come from the same place, handled with the same specificity as everything else we do here.

Between the two of them, the full picture is covered.

Because half a solution was never going to be enough.

Like all superheroes, Bill's origin story began with disaster and pain. Sliding into second (poorly, one could say) he destroyed his ankle. One surgical repair, one metal plate, and nine screws later, a medical professional was telling him he'd never run again without pain.

That simply would not do.

So, he dug in. Reading every book he could find. Asking dumb questions of every medical professional who'd stand still long enough to talk to him. Trying method after method. Until he built a post-rehab protocol that finally made sense to him. And it worked... he was back on the field the following season, running pain-free.

Consciously, the experience made him healthy. Subconsciously, it started moving him toward becoming what he is today… everyone's favorite movement specialist.

Two career changes, a psychology degree, and nearly thirty years later — more than twenty of those in fitness — Bill is still driven by the same desire. Understand what's going on in the body... formulate a plan... bring about real lasting change.

But the work isn't just physical. Knowing when to push and when to pull back. Knowing when someone needs to be challenged and when they need patience. Knowing when a person is capable of more than they realize. That's not a certification. That's decades of paying attention to people.

Kerin's origin story didn't begin in a classroom studying exercise and nutrition. It began as an overweight child. She grew up struggling to lose weight, never quite understanding why it always returned and what she could do to make the changes real. The weight was still a problem when she discovered at age 21 that she would need back surgery — the second of her many visits to a surgeon's table.

The care she received during her own recoveries over the years changed what she thought was possible, and she decided early on that she wanted to find a way to pay that forward.

She met Bill after shoulder surgery and rehab, became a trainer because the calling wouldn't leave her alone, and pushed her way into a profession that wasn't sure it wanted her yet. She was determined. She got in anyway.

Then she went further. Feeling that her training lacked a complete clinical understanding of nutrition, she went back to graduate school for clinical nutrition — because good enough never really was.

Two degrees, three kids, and more than a decade in fitness later, Kerin brings something most trainers can't — a body that has been through it, a clinical mind that understands exactly what's happening inside it, and the lived experience to know what it actually takes to come back from something hard…every time.

At McCallister Fitness, Kerin makes sure nutrition and movement never live in separate departments.

The story is why we built it. The assessment is where it starts for you.
